So I'm looking into a topic for my essay on Arthurian Legend. I don't know how much I need to write yet. My options?
( Decisions, decisions... )I like most of the Celtic and twentieth century questions, particularly the one on film (Entire essay on Monty Python - ' "Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!" - the issue of lineage in Arthurian film") but I need to see how much information I can get from Age of Arthur - WHICH I NOW HAVE, HA HA HA! - and Malory. And I'll need to find a copy of the Wasteland and Gawain, just in case, because I left mine at home. Along with my Post-it index tabs :( I meant to bring all of them back with me last week, but forgot. I'd retrieve them when I go back next week, but I'd only have to bring them home again on the twelfth.
In other news... I got an email from the University. It basically said, "Guess what?! You're doing Historical Studies! That means you can either become a History teacher, or a museum-pointer!!!lol!!!11!1!!one!!!"
=_= My dreams of becoming a drama instructor... shattered. Even more so by the guys in the conventional theatre group, "Oh, I direct plays all the time..." *smooshes their heads into a wall*
...I'm particularly violent today.
So in the next couple of weeks, I need to figure out what I'm doing and when I'm rehearsing it. And with whom. Ada was thinking of doing the Cherry Orchard, but I don't know about anyone else. In order of preference, I'd choose Shakespeare, Bacchai, or Mother Courage... and the Bacchai's only there because of its relevance to my degree. Shakespeare because it's fun AND relevant (Et tu, Brute?) and... Mother Courage is just THERE because I kind of like it, but it's not my first choice.
I don't like sitting and reading the plays in a circle, though... it'll be hard work with Blasted next week.
...I'd like to see someone try Blasted.
I'd like to see the pretentious kids fail.
Yeah, like I said, violent. Vindictive, what have you.
So I need to pick out some scenes from each play I'd be interested in doing. Three minutes per person... and I technically won't know WHEN I'm rehearsing until next week when we get into our groups, so I can't really say when I'd need train tickets back to Newcastle... I'm torn between the Sunday night or the Monday night... I'll have to figure that one out...
And~! I'm finally going to post that app over at VM today. I'll actually be able to keep track of things...
Edit: The LJ cut decided to bold everything again. I also reread
this conversation of epic madness (...You know. The Death Note And Yaoi one) and it still makes me laugh.
And not just because of the Dylan Moran quote that was my username...
Another Edit: I would go on contract if they made
this phone.
